The Bealtaine Moon asked you to cross the threshold. The Horse Moon asks what it feels like to move on the other side of it. In the old Irish and Celtic tradition, the horse carried one of the most sacred meanings of all — not speed or power for their own sake, but sovereignty. The right to move at full pace, in your own direction, on your own ground.
Macha — the great sovereignty goddess of Ireland — ran faster than the king’s horses while heavily pregnant, carrying more than anyone knew. Enbarr, the great white mare of Irish mythology, had a name that meant imagination — the force that crosses between worlds, that cannot be destroyed.
